Daimler Trucks North America will recall 235 Sterling Bullet trucks vehicles because an issue with the alternator can increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

The recall affects 2008-2009 Sterling Bullet 4500 and 5500 models produced between Nov. 1, 2007 and Nov. 7, 2008.

These vehicles are equipped with a 220-amp alternator that can develop a short circuit, which can result in an engine fire.

No crashes or injuries related to this defect have been reported.

To fix the problem, mechanics will install a replacement alternator.

Owners will be notified of the recall in February.
