Nissan North America Inc. has told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it will recall 56,766 of its 2013-2014 Murano SUVs to fix a power steering hose.

The power steering hose clamp may become detached, leaking power steering fluid, increasing the risk of a fire. The recalled vehicles were manufactured from July 18, 2013, to Aug. 28, 2014.

According to the NHTSA notice, Nissan dealers will install a power steering high pressure hose kit if necessary, free of charge. Nissan has not released a date yet as to when it will start notifying affected Murano owners.

Nissan North America Inc. is headquartered in Franklin, Tenn.

My Nissan dealer is replacing the defective steering part on my 2014 Murano. I’m being charged $46 for the service. Where should I send the bill for Nissan to pay?
