The 2019 Ford Escape is a five-seat car-based SUV that competes with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

The 2019 Ford Escape is available in four trims: S, SE, SEL and Titanium.
The range-topping Titanium model comes equipped with 19-inch aluminum wheels, leather-trimmed heated front seats, touchscreen navigation and a 10-speaker Sony audio system.
The Escape comes with a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Front-wheel drive is standard on all trims.
17-inch steel wheels are standard on the S trim, with 17-inch silver aluminum and 19-inch aluminum wheels with Luster Nickel-painted spokes available on higher trims.
Dimensions:
The 2019 Escape has a 105.9-inch wheelbase, a 178.1-inch overall length and an 81.8-inch width.
Powertrain:
The base engine in the 2019 Ford Escape is a 168-horsepower 2.5-liter four cylinder. Other engine choices are a 1.5-liter EcoBoost standard in the SE and SEL and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost with auto start-stop in the Titanium.
The 1.5-liter engine produces 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. The 2.0-liter engine produces 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.
No hybrid, plug-in hybrid or full-electric powertrains are available.
Front-wheel drive is standard on all models. All-wheel drive is available on all trims except the S.
All 2019 Ford Escapes use a six-speed automatic transmission.
Towing:
Ford has not yet released details on the 2019 Escape’s towing capacity, but the maximum for a 2018 Ford Escape is 3,500 pounds.
Mileage:
EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2019 Ford Escape range from a high of 23 mpg in city driving, 30 mpg in highway driving and 26 mpg combined with the FWD with 1.5-liter EcoBoost to a low of 20 mpg in city driving, 27 mpg in highway driving and 23 mpg combined in the AWD with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost.
Safety:
All 2019 Ford Escape models are equipped with standard airbags, including driver’s knee, front-seat side and side-curtain airbags.
Standard safety equipment also includes roll stability control and a perimeter alarm on all but the S trim.
Available safety and driver-assistance technology includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with braking and active park assist.
Infotainment:
The standard infotainment system includes Ford Sync with a 4.2-inch screen, a smart-charging USB port and an AM/FM stereo. The screen also provides the display for the standard rear-vision camera.
On the SE, SEL and Titanium trims, the standard infotainment system uses Sync 3 with and eight-inch touchscreen with AppLink and two smart-charging USB ports. The Titanium trim uses a 10-speaker Sony audio system.
Comfort & Convenience:
The 2019 Ford Escape comes with up to four 12-volt power outlets (four on the S and SE, three on the SEL and two on the Titanium trims). The S has one USB port, and the other three have two.
