Quick Facts to Know: 2018 Jeep Renegade

Built in Italy alongside the Fiat 500x, the 2018 Jeep Renegade is Jeep’s smallest vehicle.

Its Fiat-derived heritage and production location also make it the first Jeep to be produced completely outside North America.

The Renegade, while not able to tow in certain configurations, is offered with dedicated off-road packages and terrain-management options. Several packages are available that add a high degree of customization to the existing trim levels, notably a “MySky” roof panel system that allows the entire top of the vehicle to be opened into two large sunroofs for an open-air feel.

Pricing

  • The 2018 Jeep Renegade Sport starts at $19,890 after $1,445 in destination charges.
  • 2018 Renegade Limited models have a starting price of $28,740 after destination.
  • The 2017 Jeep Renegade started at $19,325 after destination.

Trims

  • The 2019 Jeep Renegade is available in Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk and Limited trims.
  • All models are available in 4×4 and 4×2 configuration, except for the Trailhawk, which is 4×4 only.

Dimensions

  • The 2018 Jeep Renegade has a wheelbase of 101.2 inches, an overall length of 166.6 inches and a width of 79.6 inches.

Powertrain

  • A 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque is standard on Renegade Sport and Latitude models.
  • Limited and Trailhawk models get a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder making 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque as standard equipment. Sport and Latitude trims can add the engine as an option.
  • A nine-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the Renegade lineup.

Towing

  • Towing is not recommended for the Renegade with the 1.4-liter engine. Those equipped with the 2.4-liter engine are able to tow up to 2,000 pounds but only when equipped with 4×4.

Mileage

  • EPA estimates for Renegades equipped with the 1.4-liter engine are 24 mpg city/31 mpg highway/27 mpg combined for both 4×2 and 4×4 models.
  • Renegades with the 2.4-liter engine are EPA estimated at 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway/25 mpg combined with 4×2 and 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway/24 mpg combined with 4×4.

Safety

  • Notable standard safety features include hill-start assist, electronic roll mitigation and rearview camera.
  • Advanced safety features can be added in packages that include lane-departure warnings, blind-spot monitors, forward collision warnings with active braking and rear park assist.

Infotainment

  • A 5.0-inch display with Uconnect 3 and Bluetooth is standard on Sport models.
  • A 7.0-inch display is standard on all other trims and includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, voice commands with Bluetooth and SiriusXM Radio.
  • Navigation can be added to models with the 7.0-inch unit with a package that also brings HD Radio and a full-color driver information display on Latitude models.

Comfort & Convenience

  • Several options packages are available at various trim levels that bring in additional features like heated seats and steering wheel, black or chrome appearance touches, advanced safety technology, additional power connections, leather upholstery and navigation.
  • The Renegade is available with a Jeep “MySky” roof, which can be opened like a sunroof or removed completely for an open-air experience akin to a Jeep Wrangler.
