Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will introduce its new Ram 1500 Rebel Black pickup truck at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this week.

The Ram Rebel Black is the newest variant of the Ram 1500 Rebel, a performance pickup with an off-road focus that features 33-inch all terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, skid plates and tow hooks. Air suspension, exclusive for the light-duty pickup class, is also standard fare.

With an aggressive front fascia and prominent “RAM” lettering stamped across the tailgate, the Ram 1500 Rebel is far from subtle. A number of darkened design accents help the Rebel Black stand apart even further. The regular slate of paint options will remain, however the wheels, brush guard and interior are black for added punctuation.

Inside, the Ram Rebel Black features black anodized bezels on its doors, gauge cluster rings, center console and instrument panel. Black heated seats are standard, and black leather Katskin seats are available. Slate gray accent stitching flows through the instrument panel, center console, doors and seats.

“Adding the Rebel Black package to an already aggressive off-road truck will continue feeding the momentum Rebel is creating for the Ram Truck brand,” said Mike Manley, head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA – Global.

That marked an increase of 8.7 percent compared with 2015 sales, one of the largest gains among full-size pickups. Ram also upped its market share to 21.8 percent in the segment.

Available engines in the Ram 1500 Rebel Black include the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. This is used in FCA products ranging from the Dodge Challenger to the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 495 hp and 410 pound-feet of torque. Each is connected to an 8-speed TorqueFlite transmission. The Ram 1500 Rebel Black will be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.
