May 09, 2017 by Carina Ockedahl, @Ockis9

Mack Trucks is recalling 3,282 vehicles because the alternator cable could overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

The truck recall includes certain 2015 to 2018 LR and 2011 to 2018 TerraPro (LEU and MRU) trucks.

The affected vehicles are equipped with an alternator cable that may not be thick enough to handle the current, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As a result, the cable may overheat which could lead to a vehicle fire.

No crashes or injuries related to this issue have been reported.

Truck owners may see visible warning signs of overheating from the cable, such as insulation degradation.

The recall is expected to begin June 16.
