Recreational vehicle maker Hunter RMV has a new model designed for extreme overlanding.
The Predator 6.6 resembles a modern RV, but it’s built onto a military vehicle. Hunter chose to use Light Medium Tactical Vehicles because they are used by te Predatorhe military to transport soldiers and cargo across rugged terrain.
Its exterior disguises an updated interior with the amenities of a full-size luxury RV. The base model floor plan includes a dinette, queen bed, bunks, shower, toilet and overhead storage. A small kitchen area features a double-door refrigerator, two-burner cooktop and a stainless-steel microwave.
Hunter RMV also added a few other perks: a bath skylight, DSI water heater, LED interior lighting and an AM/FM Bluetooth stereo.
The Predator 6.6 also is quite large and off-road capable. It measures 27.5 feet long and stands over 13 feet high, including a low-profile A/C unit. A Caterpillar 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine powers the vehicle.
While the base model tops out at 58 mph, Hunter RMV offers faster road axles that can boost it above 70 mph. Other upgrade options include extra fuel storage, a winch and solar power integration. The base model offers 400 miles of range; the extra fuel storage brings that range to around 800 miles.
The Predator 6.6 has a 22-inch ground clearance coupled with full-time all-wheel-drive. A seven-speed automatic transmission uses an integral transfer case with a locking differential, designed to perform on rough landscapes.
The starting price of the Hunter RMV Predator 6.6 is $197,500. The company manufactures its models on-site in Minden, Nev.
